ABSTRACT: This study explores the role of early childhood education in promoting outdoor learning among young children. Outdoor learning experiences are crucial for holistic development. The objectives were to evaluate the benefits of outdoor learning, identify effective outdoor educational practices, and assess the long-term impacts of outdoor education. A survey design was utilized to gather comprehensive data, justified by its ability to capture diverse perspectives. Purposive sampling was employed to select 180 children from preschools in Ekiti State, Nigeria. Findings revealed that children who participated in outdoor learning activities demonstrated improved physical health, cognitive development, and social skills. Activities such as nature exploration, outdoor games, and environmental projects were particularly effective. It was recommended that early childhood education programs integrate outdoor learning activities to enhance children's overall development.
